This design features Francis Kwame Nkrumah, Ghana’s first president and one of the most iconic figures of the African independence era. A visionary and unapologetic advocate for pan-African unity, Nkrumah helped lead Ghana to become the first sub-Saharan African country to break free from colonial rule in 1957.

He wasn’t just thinking about one country—he had a much bigger picture in mind. Nkrumah believed in a united Africa: economically independent, politically self-determined, and globally respected. His bold ideas, from socialist planning to anti-imperialism, made him both admired and controversial—and his ousting in a coup didn’t stop his influence from spreading across generations of revolutionaries and thinkers.
