Kalensky, stages the revolution as a living command rather than a past event: a forward-pointing figure fills the frame while the slogan surges behind him in turbulent lettering, turning words into atmosphere and momentum. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe text reads: “Power to the Soviets! Peace to the Peoples! Land to the Peasants!” which compresses the Bolsheviks’ 1917 mass program into a single chant: authority should pass from the Russian Provisional Government to workers’ and soldiers’ councils (soviets), the imperial war should end in the name of ordinary people, and land should be taken from landlords and placed in the hands of the peasantry. In its original moment the formula worked as a rallying cry: legible at a glance, political at full volume.
